Many items you search for, or add to your setup, are stored in the built-in database. AquaTrax can also use your internet connection to download additional information such as photographs from our central database server. Optionally, share your own additions to the database with the AquaTrax user community as well.
The database is searchable from a tree view, where you can easily drill down into the appropriate species type and then family and then select by common or scientific/latin species name:
Included in the database as standard:
- Livestock - Fish, corals, plants & inverts (tropical freshwater, marine and coldwater)
- Equipment – Aquariums, lights, heaters, filters, filter media, sump tanks, UV's, pumps, Co2 system and much much more
- Plants and Algae's
- Suppliers - Manufacturers, shops, websites, internet forums & friends
- Diseases
- Fishkeeping Glossary
The idea is that every element of your aquarium, from the tank to the fish, from the filter media to the supplier you get it all from, is already in the system. This allows you to simply select the item and add it to your own setup in the software - Quick and easy.
You may also find specific items using the powerful search function, where you can specify particular criteria when finding an item in the database. In the screenshot below, we are searching for Cichlids, but only those originating from South America with the keyword "Dwarf" in the species name and those that have a library photo included. We may also have specified further search criteria to further narrow the results.
Aquatrax includes the ability for you to record items as a “Favourite”. This will add the item to the top of any lists, saving you from searching through the entire database for the items you use more frequently. There is also a wish lists section where you can add the items you would like to purchase. Once again this allows you to quickly find that special item, when you decide to purchase it in the future. |
